Helpful Hints
If your job requires a lot of time on the phone, consider getting a headset.  Many people are multi-tasking while on the phone, and the receiver ends up being held by the shoulder and ear.  When you hold the phone this way you are training those muscles to be in a contracted state, and over time they will literally 'shorten'.  A few massage sessions can help to lengthen and retrain the muscles.

Ladies, the same principle applies to that purse you sling over your shoulder.  Women generally will slightly raise the shoulder to keep the purse from sliding off.  You are training your muscles to be raised from a normal position.  Consider removing that kitchen sink and other unnecessary items from your purse.  You could also try switching shoulders frequently.  Backpacks, when used correctly, distribute weight more evenly and cause less  stress on the muscle groups of the shoulder and neck, or you might consider a cross-body purse.  If you must have the sink, consider getting something with wheels!
